Southeast Asia's managed and flexible rentals: co-living, student and worker housing, serviced apartments and each market's local rental types

Tracker › Property types

Property types

The tracker sorts every record into one or more property types. Each market also has its own local rental types, explained in English on the local rental types hub.

Co-living (54 records)

Co-living means furnished private rooms or studios with shared space, managed by an operator and usually let by the month or longer. This page lists every co-living record in the tracker by market.

Student housing (PBSA) (13 records)

Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) is housing built and run for students, either by universities or by private operators. This page lists every PBSA record in the tracker by market.

Serviced apartments (16 records)

Serviced apartments are furnished apartments with hotel-style services (cleaning, front desk) let by the night, week or month. Aparthotels mix hotel rooms with apartment features such as kitchens. Both are run by operators. This section tracks sourced openings and signings.

Worker dormitories (15 records)

Worker dormitories house migrant and other workers, usually under a contract with their employer. In Singapore, purpose-built dormitories (PBDs) are licensed under FEDA. In Malaysia, worker accommodation, including centralised labour quarters (CLQ), must be certified under Act 446.
